Qamishli, Turkey – Militant fighters of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) burned 45 people alive in the vicinity of the Ain al-Assad military base in the sub-district of Baghdadi in al-Anbar province, in western Iraq, local sources reported on Wednesday.

The Iraqi army has no precise information about the identity of the victims or the reasons the IS extremists  burned them alive, the Brigadier-General in the Iraqi army, Qasim al-Obeidi, told reporters on Wednesday.

“In addition, a building of the Iraqi security and local officials was attacked by IS terrorists in the province,” he added.

Meanwhile, the human rights activist Yusuf Temmo told ARA News that the Islamic State radicals have engaged in the most heinous crimes in Syria and Iraq in plain view of the international community.

“The international community should take serious measures to eliminate the terrorist group, otherwise we’ll continue seeing such brutal images,” he argued.

“People need the actual elimination of this group to stop the bloodshed in their areas.”

Speaking to ARA News in this regard, Mohammad Rashid Gharzani, president of the Muslim Clerics Union in the Auto-Administration (declared by the Democratic Union Party “PYD” in northern Syria), said that the Islamic groups exploited the Syrian Revolution and practiced tyranny, by imposing strict regulations, and dealing with other Syrians in the same manner that the regime deals with the Syrian population. “Entire Syrian areas were subjected to damage by these extremists, causing the displacement of tens of thousands” he said, pointing out that also some Kurdish areas have been victimized by Islamists.

“We are demanding to maintain our areas against such brutal groups,” the Kurdish cleric said.

Over the past two years, the Islamic State militants have killed hundreds of Syrian and Iraqi civilians, as well as foreigners of different nationalities.
